Cause of Ohio Electric Rate Increases

Average residential electric bills in Ohio have risen by $16 (18%) since the enactment of the ‘green energy law” (127-SB221). Advocates of repeal claim that the costs of this law are excessive. They suggest that the law costs the average customer $1.37 to $3.92 per month. However, these sums amount to 10-25% of the increase. Even if they are correct (and they greatly exaggerate), 75-90% of the increase lies elsewhere. Source: anon, The Fallacy of Ohio’s “Free Lunch” Program
